Animal Stepping Stool: Elephant Design

Author: Kara Kelso

There is nothing more special than a hand created gift for a child. Designs by de'Maison may just have the gift you are looking for.

I must say this first - WOW! I mean really, wow. I'm just more than impressed overall with Sue Mulvey of Designs by de'Maison. Not only was the customer service and communication fantastic, but the product is something to be remembered.

It was less 2 weeks from the time I 'ordered' the step stool until I received it in the mail. While in some cases this may seem a long time, for the detail involved in the creation of this product it was actually very good time. It was very obvious this item had just been created....when we opened the box we could smell the fresh paint!

The kids immediately took to it and were exited to get a special gift like this. In our kitchen we have had to use little chairs so the kids could help out or do anything for themselves. Not an ideal situation since chairs can tip (especially plastic child size ones). I had mentioned this to Sue, and she included a nice note that stated "now you won't have to use a chair!". Very cute, and an nice personal touch! It was amazing she remembered me saying that since I had forgot I said it.

As for the detail on the stepping stool - it was absolutely amazing. For the most part the top "stepping" part is like a normal step stool, although there is a few slight curves on the edges to add life to the design. Handpainted on the top is an elephant with a cute pink bow and bird sitting on top. Since I can't paint at all, such detail in a picture always impresses me!

The legs and underside are painted white, and attached to the legs is padding. The padding prevents the wood from scratching up my floor, and keeps it from sliding. A thoughtful extra touch!

I highly recommend visiting Designs by de'Maison at: http://www.designsbydemaison.com
